Building a Healthy Community
Kaiser Permanente helps the Free Clinic and Community stay strong.
Since 1999 Kaiser Permanente has partnered with the Free Clinic of SW Washington to provide financial, volunteer and in-kind support. The organization has contributed more than $440,000 to fund Free Clinic programs.
Kaiser Permanente supports the Free Clinic in several ways. They provide funding for the Medical and Dental programs and for Project Access Clark County, a system of donated specialty care services for low-income, uninsured patients in Clark County. Kaiser Permanente’s regional compliance officer, Maryann Schwab, is an active member on the Free Clinic Board of Directors. Kaiser Permanente also donates medical and dental supplies and equipment from its surplus warehouse.
Kaiser Permanente’s mission is evident in the culture of its staff. The organization recognizes Martin Luther King Day as a “day on,” not a day off. Many of its physicians, dentists, nurses, and staff choose to volunteer at the Free Clinic and other area nonprofits on Martin Luther King Day.

The mission of the Free Clinic is to provide compassionate, free, quality health care to children and adults. Without support from our community partners like Kaiser Permanente, our programs at the Free Clinic of SW Washington would not be possible. Thanks to Kaiser Permanente’s generous support, we will continue to provide medical and dental care to individuals in our community who have no other access to care.
