Kaiser Permanente
On Monday, January 17, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Kaiser Permanente staff and Free Clinic of Southwest Washington (FCSW) volunteers made it a “day on, not a day off” thanks to a grant from Kaiser Permanente. The FCSW and Kaiser Permanente offered this day of service to patients who would otherwise have no place to go and provided additional funding for future urgent care clinics.
Kaiser Permanente also awarded the Adult Urgent Dental Program a grant to increase patient capacity, support volunteer retention and recruitment and expand the Dental Access Program – an opportunity for dentists in the community to volunteer to treat patients in their private offices.
The Regence Foundation
The Regence Foundation awarded the FCSW a grant to establish a Transitional Diabetic Care Project to help stabilize patients suffering from uncontrolled diabetes and help them transition into a medical home for long-term disease management.
Ronald McDonald House Charities
The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Oregon & Southwest Washington granted the FCSW Children’s Dental program funding for dental supplies and at Children’s Dental Health Day in February. With a match from the global organization, this grant will significantly impact children’s oral health in Southwest Washington.
Southwest Washington Medical Center
Southwest Washington Medical Center provided significant support for the FCSW's general operating fund as well as in kind support for multiple clinical services.
Southwest Washington Medical Center’s medical staff designated resources to support the medication assistance program. The FCSW provides prescriptions free of charge to patients, many of which receive more than one prescription at their visit. With the cost of medications continuing to increase, this grant will allow the dispensary to purchase much-needed medications.
Wal-Mart Foundation
The Wal-Mart Foundation provided funding to support one urgent care clinic each week for a year. The FCSW sees between 30-40 patients per clinic, therefore this grant has the opportunity to support nearly 2,000 patient visits in 2011.
