What do volunteers do at Free Clinic of Southwest Washington?
Just about everything. There are only 10 employees, but 650+ volunteers.
Wait....there's a wait-list?
It is a testament to the spirit of this community that we have a wait-list for some (not all) of our volunteer positions. We are grateful for the many enthusiastic people who wish to help. If your desired position is currently full, please consider applying anyway, and we will do our best to find you a placement as soon as possible.
Are there roles for non-clinical volunteers?
Yes, many.
Many of our medical clinic positions (nursing, lab tech, front office) are full, but if you apply online, you can be placed on a WAIT LIST for the next available openings.
Our most ACUTE NEED is for:
DENTAL: Dentists, Hygienists, & Dental Assistants
VISION: Optometrists, Ophthalmologists & Ophthalmic Technicians
DISPENSARY: Pharmacists (PharmD, RPh)
MEDICAL Providers: MD, DO, ND, NP, PA (general practice & specialties)
and Spanish language INTERPRETERS for all clinics.

Artist: seeking artist (graphic, tag or other) to create a large wall inscription dedicated to volunteers in our patient waiting room.
Branding/Messaging: seeking professionals to assist with new campaign.
Website Technician: seeking web savvy volunteer to help us with our website.
RV Specialist: seeking skilled driver, owner, or otherwise RV knowledgeable person to help us keep the Mobile Dental Van in good order.

Internships & Externships
Internships are designed for adults who are in a career transition, or students with academic requirements. We use medical and dental externs on a regular, rotating, basis. Please contact the office for more information.
