Eric Holden, PA-C

Profile in compassion...

E. HoldenVolunteering since 2003

Patients, volunteers and staff of Free Clinic of Southwest Washington (FCSW) have the fortunate opportunity to be cared for and to work with some of the most talented and dedicated medical professionals in the Northwest.

Eric Holden PA-C, MPA, EMT-P,  is just one example of our amazing medical volunteers! Holden was born in Boston and then moved to Guam for three years. He was raised in Southern California graduating from University of California Santa Cruz in 1991. After graduation he spent time as a paramedic before relocating to Philadelphia. He graduated in 1996 from Hahnemann University where he received his Masters Degree.  Holden has been volunteering with the FCSW for over 5 years.

When asked why he is so dedicated to the Clinic he said he does it for the patients. “The majority of the patients here are typical working class families and adults who do not have the luxury of being provided health care by employers. If the Clinic was not here these patients would have to go to the ER and be charged thousands of dollars for what we do here for free!”

Holden is currently an Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant, working at SW Washington Medical Center, Memorial Hospital, Kaiser Permanente and a hospital in Newport.

He has been living in the Northwest since 1999 with his wife and beautiful little girl, Berit. He is a perfect representation of a Northwesterner. He enjoys the great outdoors including hiking, scuba diving, running ultra marathons and river rafting. He is currently training to participate in the 50 Mile Autumn Leavs Ultra Marathon, climbing Mt. Shasta in July, and going on a rafting trip down the Snake River in June!!!
