"Usually we have no idea how our work impacts peoples lives. My son, who is in his first year of medical school, is wise for his age and has been to Africa, and tells me that if you do not have physical health, it is hard to have a sense of well being. Perhaps this, more than anything, is what we can offer to patients."
Phil McGuiness, MD (physician volunteer)

Volunteers provide all the services at Free Clinic of Southwest Washington (FCSW).  Health Professionals provide direct service patient care.

But you don't have to be a health professional to volunteer here! Thirty percent of our volunteers are not health professionals.  They provide support in clinics as clerks, administrative assistants to program managers, and work as student interns or externs.  Community professionals direct the agency as board members, in advisory committees, and provide their expertise for program or project development.  Current Volunteer Openings will show current openings, as well as special positions (professional consultant, internships, etc.)
