All Volunteer Roles
Volunteers,
both clinical and non-clinical, provide all the services at Free
Clinic. In addition to direct service volunteers who provide patient
care, non-clinical volunteers provide support in clinics as patient
intake clerks, provide administrative support to managers and work as
student interns or externs. Community professionals direct the
agency as board members, in advisory committees, and provide their expertise for program or project development.

Urgent Care Clinic Volunteers
- Attendant - directs providers to next patients, manages patient referrals, and generally supports the Clinic
Director. (This position is only available to experienced volunteers through internal promotion.) - Dietician/Nutritionist - support patients who have received cholesterol & blood glucose screening results.
- Front Office Assistant - assist with front office, answer phones, assist patients, answer inquiries, and other medical office work, for non-clinic hours (not during urgent care clinics).
- Front Office Clerk - register patients for clinics.
- Front Office Triage - register patients for clinics and order necessary labs.
- Interpreter - Russian - medical interpretation for patients at the front office, and in the exam room.
- Interpreter - Spanish- medical interpretation for patients at the front office, and in the exam room.
- Lab Technician - run basic labs such as throat cultures and urinary analysis - will train pre-med students.
- Medical Assistant Extern - assist with front office, patient rooming, labs and other medical office work.
- Medical Director - supervise medical services
- Nursing - RN, LPN, CNA, HCA - room patients, take vitals, and inital complaints.

- Nursing - Health Screening - test for cholesterol and blood glucose levels in patients.
- Pharmacist - dispense prescriptions to patients (free of charge).
- Dispensary Clerk - record prescriptions submitted for filling.
- Pharmacy Technician - fill prescriptions for patients.
- Physical Therapist - work with Orthopedists and during seasonal sports physicals.
- Physician or Provider - MD, DO, ND, NP, PA - acute care, specialty consultations.
Vision Clinic Volunteers
- Optometrist - OD provides vision exams

- Ophthalmologist - MD provides eye health exams
- Optometric/Ophthalmologic Technician - refraction
- Optometric/Ophthalmologic Technician
Pediatric Immunization Clinic Volunteers
- Immunization Nurse - provide pediatric immunizations (quarterly brush-up trainings available)
- Clerk - register patients for clinics, assist with paperwork, database work.
- Data & Inventory Specialist - manage and track all immunizations & inventory
- Immunization Nurse Trainer - provide quarterly trainings for nurses
- Nursing - Adult Flu Shots - seasonal flu shot clinics
- Outreach Eligibility Specialist - assist patients with information for state insurance or other programs
Dental Clinic Volunteers
- Dentist - provide exams and/or restorations and/or extractions
- Dental Hygienist - dental health screenings, sealants and flouride varnishes for children.
- Dental Assistant - assist dentists & coordinator during clinics
- Occasional Internships
Project Access Clark County Volunteers Administrative Assistant - provide support for patient care coordination
- Administrative Assistant - provide support in all areas
- Occasional Internships
Non-Clinical Service Volunteers
- Volunteer Program Assistant - provide support to Volunteer Program
- Administrative Assistant - assistant to Executive Director & other Managers
